Hapoli is a part of Ziro, the headquarters of Lower Subansiri district, Arunachal Pradesh, India where the administrative offices of the headquarters are located. The name is said to have been derived from "Hao-Polyang", by which name the Apatanis still know. Literally, "hao" means high or above and "polyang" means plain or plateau. It also serves as the commercial hub of Lower Subansiri district and boasts a large number of schools both government and private where students from all over the state come to study . The Apatanis are the native of this place and also forms the majority. It is divided into several zones,some of which are medical colony, Engineering Colony and SSB gate etc. The recent surge in the number of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh pose a huge threat to the tribal culture and the proper implementation of inner line permit system by the law enforcers can be seen as the only remedy as of now.

Ziro is a census town in Lower Subansiri district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. In a meeting of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on 12 December 2002 it was shortlisted for inclusion in the Tentative List for further nomination to UNESCO for inscription in the World Heritage Site.[1] The part of the town which is the centre of economic activities and where the administrative offices are located is called as Hapoli or locally known by the Apatanis as "Hao-Polyang".
Ziro is around 115 km from the state capital Itanagar and takes approx 3 and a half hours via the improved Hoj-Potin road along NH229 and 150 km via the Assam route. Earlier the nearest railway station from Ziro was located at Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh near the Arunachal-Assam border which is around 100 km from Ziro. The nearest airport to the settlement is Lilabari, in North Lakhimpur district of Assam(India).

Tarin Fish Farms is a part of the Bulla village, which is inhabited by the people of Apatani tribes. The best part about this place is that here you can see the process of raising the two crops of rice (Mipya and Emoh) and a breed of fish (Ngihi) together, a practice which is followed by the Apatanis tribes.

The Ziro valley has a good share of this biodiversity. 30 kilometres from the town of Ziro is the sanctuary.Talley Valley Reserved Forest and Talle Wildlife sanctuary is situated at an elevated level with rivers like Pange, Sipu, Karing and Subansiri flowing through the Reserved Forest and Sanctuary. It is home to highly endangered species like clouded leopard. Pleioblastus simone is a bamboo variety only found in Talley Valley.
